Turkish mills reduced their lira-denominated ferrous DKP grade (auto bundle) scrap and dollar-dominated ship scrap buying prices further Wednesday, in line with softening imported scrap prices, industry sources said.
Steelmaker Colakoglu decreased its DKP grade scrap buying price by Turkish Lira 40/mt ($19/mt) Wednesday to Turkish Lira 750/mt, while Turkish alloy steel producer Asil Celik cut its buying price for the same grade by Turkish Lira 35/mt to Turkish Lira 770/mt.
Cebitas reduced its dollar-dominated ship scrap buying price by a further $10/mt to $360/mt, while melting scrap from shipbreaking was offered to other mills in western Turkey (Habas, IDC, Ege Celik and Ozkanlar) at $365-370/mt delivered to mill, $5-10/mt lower than last week.
Turkey’s largest integrated steel producer, Erdemir, and integrated long steelmaker Kardemir retained their buying prices for DKP grade scrap at Turkish Lira 845/mt and Turkish Lira 835/mt respectively.
